Eileen Harder
Eileen was born in Penticton BC and lived there for 24 years enjoying the bright sunny Okanagan. She has been artistic since childhood which was demonstrated through her win at a BC Tel drawing contest at the young age of 11 years old and her many years of making fun of her family in comedic drawings. Travelling and living extensively in Europe after high school, she discovered masterpieces in museums and art galleries. After this she lived in Alberta, working as a floral designer and display artist while going to College studying an undergraduate degree program in the arts and humanities.
Eileen never forgot her experience in Europe and her love of art and expression became a dominant theme in her life. She enjoys experimenting with different art styles, beginning with at least 20 years painting realism. Now she enjoys a much looser style, heading towards Abstract realism to Impressionist styles.
In 2002 she was featured in the "NOW" newspaper and Tri-City News (2010) and recently in Alternative Trends Magazine in a ten page expose' on her accumulative work. Eileen is an Active Member of the Federation of Canadian Artist, winning awards and accolades. Her work can be found in private collections all over the World, New Zealand, Cuba, USA, England and across Canada.
She enjoys playing classical guitar, piano and violin.
